Game Night Available Now on Meta Quest
Games aren't connecting with each other
I'm getting "Error Loading Room" or "insufficient spatial data" dialog on my second headset.
Meta's App Sharing tool is currently broken (again!). It prevents room loading or spatial anchors from loading & saving.
Workaround
On the secondary headset,
Turn off Meta's App Sharing
Uninstall Game Night from all profiles (just to be safe)
Reinstall Game Night on the profile that owns the game, the same profile you use on your main headset.
Load on both headsets they will now automatically connect together
We allow our game to run from multiple headsets using the same profile (most games don't). The other advantage of using this method over App Sharing as you can play on 2 or more many headsets using 1 copy of the game (App Sharing only allows 2).
The game isn't loading correctly
Multiplayer fails to automatically join
It pops up a cannot connect dialog when other play attempt to join
The room loads but it isn't the room I'm in
The room loads but it isn't lined up correctly with the room I'm in
The player hats aren't line up on people's heads
Hand tracking isn't working
Solution
This is an issue within Meta's scene setup tool. It sometimes corrupts. To fix this, perform the following steps, in this order, on each device:
1. Load Quick Settings
2. Open Settings
3. Ensure that all devices are on the same Wi-Fi network
This addresses issue of players not being able to join the same game
3. Open Privacy and Security
4. Open Device Permissions tab
5. Enable "Hand and body tracking"
6. Enable "Enhanced spatial services"
7. Delete "enhanced spatial services spatial data from Meta services"
This addresses issues with hand tracking not working and hats not aligning with the players heads.
8. Clear "physical space history"
This addresses issues with the space setup not aligning with your actual room
9. Open physical space
10. Perform space setup
Clearing spaces here is not the same as Clearing and Deleting the permissions settings above. It will not address the issues breaking the game.
